I cannot recommend this enough: alcohol-fruit infusions might be a massive time-sink, but they are 100% absolutely worth the wait you sink into them.
Only in New Orleans would any kind of dietary restriction challenge be met with the phrase: “But what [alcoholic beverage] can I drink?”
I realized, after a whole week of living off of rice and root vegetables, that we were missing something dear: snacks.
Giving the red beans and rice another go, with a really easy garlic mashed potato recipe on the side.
I’m not going to say this challenge is easy, but stir fry is. So that’s what I made.
They call it the “Best Oyster Chowder, Ever.” I’m going to make it the best I can, with all local ingredients.
I think a lot of people confuse difficulty with inconvenience. Part of this challenge is teaching me to be clearer about the two.
We have substitutes. We will not starve. Dinner might just be a little…bland.
If we can just get five or so go-to ingredients on hand and ready to go, we will always have a meal.
